Applying to medical school programs with an ultimate goal of offering treatment to people in pain and who have no insurance. Secondly, our goal is to become a physician-scientist to discover new treatment for challenging diseases. As an overview, in the lab, collaborating with a team of surgical urology residents, I have two primary roles: First, I focus on inherited and somatic mutations in the cancer genome (Functional Genomics) with the intent to demonstrate their critical roles in racial variation or differences in prostate tumor formation and progression between African American males and Caucasian men. Second, I compare the accuracy of the Decipher genomic profiling using DNA information to the standard normal grams for prostate cancer risk stratification. We hope that our efforts will extend to patients in pain from different walks of like, including impoverished nations, like Africa.

Oncology isn’t just my future career and research; it is a personal struggle to help improve the treatment of patients with tumors. This disease has threatened the lives of many of my friends and family and affected the lives of the patients with whom I deal every day. Just a handful of their photos are listed here. We are committed to improving the care of patients with tumors and understanding the underlying mechanisms of disease progression, motivated by a personal understanding of the disease. My vision is to work at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, employing the maximal treatment for patients in the clinic today. The lab looks to develop new treatments and diagnostic techniques for the future patients who will be at the clinic tomorrow.
Ramy's mother member was diagnosed with late-stage colon that kept metastasizing and recurring for four years throughout his college career.
Hanaa, Ramy's aunt, suffered breat cancer and received chemotherapy and radiation during his freshman year in college.
